A snapshot, and why labour shouldn’t have demanded an apology

Part One- a snapshot into the minds of other people:

So, ever since I discovered the joy of checking one’s blog stats I’ve become increasingly fascinated by what brings people to this blog.  Here are some (sometimes disturbing) examples:

“daniel kitson” + 2007, conversation hour, girlfriend etc. (obviously he’s quite popular)

“jen shin + myspace” or “jen shin”- so either someone is cyber stalking me (yay?), or they’re cyber stalking someone else with my name who is much interesting than I (more likely than the former, but I’ll guess we’ll never know)

“dan schneider” + “cosmoetica” (because of this post)

“snakes on a plane” (because of, well, my post on snakes on a plane…)

“i hate my degree” (I hate…)

“Lindsay Lohan” + “spread legs” (genitalia post)

“vagina” + “uncanny” (love this one)

I have to say though, it’s kinda creepy knowing what other people are looking for- the most harmless of intentions become incapsulated and imprisoned in just a few words.  Also embarrassing to think about other people I’ve googled out of curiosity (even though obviously no one knows who I am).

Also…

the other day someone was searching for “female actresses and torture” hmmmm

also: “plastic surgery on men’s genatalia” double hmmm.

Part Two- Why Labour shouldn’t have demanded an apology from Bill Heffernan

Perhaps Labour could have utilized the genius logic behind Heffernan’s statement that Julia Gillard was unfit for her position because she was “deliberately barren” (wait- would it have helped if she were actually barren?????) and thereby out of touch with the community (er, what?) to suggest John Howard’s intelligence makes him unable to meet the needs of the electorate whose IQ’s are higher than 45…
